Who we are
World Comics Finland (WCF) is a registered NGO in Finland. The organisation was founded by comics artists and aid activists in 1997 in Helsinki. Currently WCF has about 30 members in Finland and works together with a number of different organisations, both here in Finland and abroad.
The organisation is run on a fully voluntary basis, it does not have an office of its own, but operates out of its chairman’s home. WCF receives no organisational funding, only support for specific projects in India and Africa. WCF has conducted more than fifty workshops over the years, in Africa, India, Middle East, Europe and Finland.
